July 1, 2022The feminist movement “Les Colleuses”Went up on the stage of the Sala Bunuel, in Cannes, on the day when the festival had a special screening Riposte Feministe, a French documentary by Marie Perennes and Simon Depardon, in which he tells himself sexist violence and daily assaults.
The documentary talks about the “les Colleuses” movement, literally the “gluing machines”. Marie Perennes talks about this world she entered as an activist: «It is a universe where they reign determination, anger and thirst for justice” …“And with Simon we wanted to talk about the vocabulary and actions of this campaign that crosses France thanks to different movements”.
The activists, protagonists of the docufilm, were dressed in black took the stage of the event unrolling a long white sheet on which the names of 129 women killed by husbands and companions to give even more prominence to their action and awareness campaign against domestic violence, sexism, gender inequality. Then they raised their fists and let off black smoke bombs.
The scene was captured by photographer Raymond Depardon, whose son Simon Depardon directed, with Marie Perennès, the documentary Riposte Féministe. The title premiered in Cannes today, and follows the public protests of Les Colleuses in their mission to denounce gender-based violence
